Scholarship & Organization Overview:
The Howard University Alumni Club of Chicago (HUACC) has been re-established to provide alumni with a network to patronize Howard University, serve the Chicago community, encourage Chicago and its surrounding suburban students to attend Howard University, and promote closer friendships through fellowship, and relationship building among current and future alumni in Chicago. The HillHouse scholarship is named after Mr. Michael House and Mr. Kenneth Hill, two prominent Chicago Area Howard University Alumni who have contributed their time, talent and funds to the Howard Alumni Club of Chicago over the years. This scholarship is funded through the Howard University Alumni Club of Chicago members, recognizes high school seniors who plan to attend Howard University from Illinois for their commitment to community service, academics, and demonstrated leadership.

Scholarship Requirements:

  • Full-time high school senior (class of 2019) currently enrolled at a high school within Illinois.
  • Student demonstrates leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences.
  • Student shows a strong commitment to and involvement in community service.
  • Student plans to attend Howard University in the upcoming fall semester.
  • ALL application requirements for CPS Students must be submitted via CPS Academic Works (or via CHARTER Application for Charter School students ONLY) by 11:59 pm, Friday, June 14, 2019. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
