Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship
Organization & Scholarship Overview:
The IDeaL Education Foundation awards scholarships to deserving Chicago-area male high school and undergraduate college students at its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Luncheon. The scholarship is awarded to minority nominees who have demonstrated a need and a willingness to continue an educational mission toward a college education.

African-American male high school senior or undergraduate at a four-year college/university
- Cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or greater (4.0 scale)
- Involvement in church, community, and/or school-site activities
- Plans to enroll at a 4-year college/university
Please be advised that Scholarship awards will be presented on January 25, 2020 at the foundation’s annual MLK Scholarship Luncheon. All Scholarship winners are expected to be in attendance.

Place scholarship applicants name in the subject field and attach the following documents to the email:
- Completed Application
- Electronic Transcripts
A PDF of your unofficial transcript is acceptable as long as we receive an official sealed transcript via U. S. Mail. If an institution/school provides official electronic transcripts, a separate email with the official transcript from the institution will be acceptable.
- Personal Statement
- Two (2) letters of recommendation
Photograph (headshot) of yourself in professional business attire
Mail a hard copy of your sealed transcript to:
