That’s why our program provides comprehensive support to students to ensure they have the resources they need to get to college, to be successful, and to graduate. Our goal is to help you develop as a leader and reach your fullest potential. And we don’t stop there. As we always say, “once a Chicago Scholar, always a Chicago Scholar”. The final phase of our program is dedicated to helping you start and accelerate your career.

All applications must be received by Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 at 11:59 PM.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a high school Junior (class of 2021)
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, ACT of 20 or higher or PSAT score of 1020*
    If you are a student with an academic profile that does not meet these criteria and would like to apply, we will provide a space for you to provide proof of an upward trajectory in your academic performance in the essay portion of this application
  • Live and attend high school in Chicago
  • Be a first-generation college student (neither parent has received a 4-year degree) and/or come from an under-resourced community
  • Be academically ambitious, motivated and committed, and believe in the possibility of their unique superpowers
  • Be leaders in their schools, communities, or homes
  • Be mature students who can fully commit to a rigorous academic and leadership development program

Before you begin the application, you will need the following items:

  1. Transcript or progress report
  2. Standardized test scores (PSAT, SAT, or ACT)
  3. Full name and email address of your high school counselor
  4. Full name and email address of one teacher, coach, employer, mentor, or counselor who will write you a recommendation letter
