RCH Wrestling Foundation Scholarship

Organization & Scholarship Overview:
The RCH Wrestling Foundation Scholarship is a $1,500 award for graduating Illinois or Indiana high school seniors who have wrestled for a minimum of 3 academic high school years and are in need of financial assistance to attend college or trade school. The Scholarship is a one time $1,500 award provided to the selected student(s). The student(s) may use the scholarship to assist in undergraduate or trade school related expenses such as payment of tuition, fees, books, equipment, room and .board and/or travel to and from the school and home. At least one award is promised. The number of scholarships awarded depends on the funds raised during the year. The scholarship is presented to the student(s) at a Scholarship Dinner in their honor. The Scholarship Dinner is the culminating activity of the annual RCH Wrestling Foundation Golf Outing fundraiser, hosted each September.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • A graduating, Illinois, Central or Northwest Indiana high school senior or military veteran (male or female) accepted into an accredited four-year college/university or junior college, as an entering freshman, or a business school, or trade school
  • Wrestled for a minimum of 3 academic high school years
  • A 2.5 or better cumulative GPA, academic average
  • A positive behavioral record

Required Documents:

  1. Evidence of service learning hours earned
  2. Three (3) recommendation forms: one (1) from a teacher, one (1) from a coach and one (1) from a counselor or school administrator (can also be uploaded via the recommendation letter portal, which can be found here, official transcripts can also be uploaded here)
  3. A completed application
  4. 250-word essay
  5. Proof of acceptance into an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university, business or trade school
