Scholarship & Organization Description:
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated has a presence locally, nationally, and worldwide. The sorority was founded on November 12, 1922 at Butler University in Indianapolis Indiana by seven college women. Sigma Gamma Rho has grown and is represented internationally. We exist as Graduate Chapters members, Undergraduate Chapter members, and Members at Large. Additionally, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., has an affiliate group for adult women who have not completed and/or attended college. This group acts with and supports the organization with charitable and public service activities. We also sponsor a young women and girls’ club for girls in middle school through high school. The participants are provided leadership development opportunities and opportunities for public and community service. SGR’s corporate mission is to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the United States and globally through community service. Our goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, healthcare and leadership development.
