City Colleges of Chicago - Summer Start Scholarship Program

Scholarship Overview:
From July 6th to August 6th, new City Colleges students across the city will earn college credit by taking English 96 or English 97/101 online – ensuring their momentum into and through college English early in their first year. You can join them! With additional advising and supports, including the opportunity to earn up to $1,000 in stipends, this is your first step to college success.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Graduate from a CPS/charter school in Fall 2020 or Spring 2021
• Intend to enroll in City Colleges courses during the Fall 2021 semester
• Place into English 96 or English 97/101 (based on City Colleges’ English placement test)
• Be available to participate in Summer Start from July 6th through August 6th

To join the Summer Start cohort:

1. Apply to City Colleges for the Fall semester at www.ccc.edu/apply.
2. Take the English placement test, available in your student portal. Students must be placed into English 96 or English 97/101 to be eligible for this program.
3. Fill out this short application to become a Summer Start Scholar.
4. Complete the FAFSA or RISE application for the 2020-21 school year.
