Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - Chicago Alumnae Chapter Scholarship

Organization & Scholarship Description:
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a public service sorority founded in 1913. Each year, the Chicago Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. awards academic scholarships to select high school seniors who will attend a four-year college or university. To qualify, the applicant cannot be the child of a Chicago Alumnae Chapter member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Other qualifications as outlined apply. The scholarship packet is annually distributed to CPS high school counselors and coaches.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 2022 graduating high school senior
  • African-American or African descent
  • Resident of Chicago
  • Meet AT LEAST ONE of the following requirements (schools and exceptions listed below):
    (1) Attend one of the DST 2021-2022 target-CPS high schools; OR
    (2) Be an active participant of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Chicago Alumnae Chapters Youth Initiative Programs
  • Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5
  • Demonstrate financial need

Additional Scholarship Opportunity:
This organization offers an additional scholarship, The Rose Jackson scholarship. This is specific to students who intend to study English or Education. Students must input their intended college major and if they are eligible for this additional scholarship your application will be reviewed.

YOU MUST ATTEND ONE OF THE SCHOOLS LISTED BELOW OR BE ELIGIBLE FOR ONE OF THE EXCEPTION PROGRAMS TO APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP*
Exception: Students who are members of the Delta Sigma Theta Chicago Alumnae Chapter’s Delta GEM or EMBODI Programs CAN ALL APPLY for this scholarship REGARDLESS of which CPS high school or charter school they attend.
