The Friendly Scholar Program

Sponsorship Overview & Description:

*The Friendly Scholars Program does not apply to the traditional 4 year college path. Applicants planning on attending a 4-year College or University Degree will not be considered. *

The Friendly Scholars Foundation provides* program specific scholarships up to $5,000* for alternative education. Students awarded scholarships will have the opportunity to participate in a Friendly Scholars cohort, where they’ll have access to workshops on resume writing and communication skills, as well as professional mentorship and access to industry connections.

Our mission is to empower students to explore their passions, build skills, and make a sustainable income in a field they’re passionate about. Scholarship winners are selected by a diverse committee based on who they are, their story, and who they want to become – the selection committee is not as concerned about their grades or test scores. We know that every student faces different challenges, we award students that go above and beyond in some aspect of their life – not just their grades.

Examples of alternative education include, but are not limited to:

Trade Schools or Certifications
Coding, Design, or Technical Bootcamps or Certifications
Nursing, Cosmetology, and Esthetician Programs or Certifications
Art, Film, and Music Programs or Certifications
And many more!
