Langston B. Wesley, Morgan Park High School Memorial Scholarship (Morgan Park HS Only)
The Langston B. Wesley Morgan Park High School Scholarship is awarded for outstanding academic achievement to a senior at Morgan Park High School.
Langston B. Wesley graduated as the first black male valedictorian in the 90-year history of Morgan Park High School in 2006. He also earned an International Baccalaureate Diploma. He was also the valedictorian of Keller Gifted Magnet Grammar School. He went on to study at Stanford University, where he majored in art history. In his valedictorian speech, he emphasized the importance of education and writing. He later stated that “the sword is mighty, the pen is cunning, and the covenant of belief in positive change is a step toward victory.” Copyright 2018

*Must be in the top 10% of the graduating class.
*Preference given to graduates with financial need/out of pocket costs.
*Ideal candidates would demonstrate a strong commitment to academics, community service, and be highly involved in artistic, athletic or other extracurricular endeavors.
