HIE Help Center Scholarship for Special Educators

Scholarship & Organization Overview:
The HIE Help Center will award one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to an undergraduate or graduate student who plans to pursue a career in special education.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a U.S citizen or legal resident
  • Be seeking or in the process of completing higher education at an institution in the United States (either as an undergraduate or graduate student) in special education. High school seniors are also welcome to apply if they already know which college or university they will be attending.
  • Have a GPA of at least 3.0

Required Documents:

  1. A completed application (click here)
  2. Academic records (transcripts)
  3. An essay or a creative project about why you are pursuing a career in special education. Examples of creative projects include videos, photographs with explanations, or any other creative submission you’d like.

Please note: Although our internal team will be selecting finalists, we will leave determination of the winner up to our readers (in an online voting system). Therefore, to apply for this scholarship, you must consent to have your essay/creative project published on our website and social media accounts. The rest of your materials (application form and transcripts) will remain confidential.
