Organization & Scholarship Overview:
Greenhouse Scholars provides comprehensive personal and financial support, including one-on-one mentorship, professional guidance, peer mentorship, leadership training, and a renewable need-based college scholarship of up to $5,000 per year. Greenhouse Scholars is a diverse community of leaders using education to transform underserved communities in our backyard and around the world. We empower promising young students with the personal, professional, and financial resources they need to create lasting change in their own lives and the lives of others, regardless of circumstances.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a graduating high school senior planning to attend a four-year accredited academic institution
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a legal resident of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, New York, or North Carolina.
  • Have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Demonstrate financial need (annual household income no greater than $70,000)
  • Possess excellent leadership skills, an ability to persevere through difficult circumstances, and a strong interest in and commitment to their community

Required Documents:

  1. One (1) 500-800 word essay
  2. High School transcript (official or unofficial)
  3. Financial aid information via FAFSA or Student Aid Report (SAR)
  4. Two (2) letters of recommendation- one from a school contact and one from a community contact

Open to DREAMers: No
Renewable: Yes, $5,000 per year of college. The student must remain in good accountability standards including GPA and communication.
