Organization & Scholarship Description:
Act Six is a leadership development and college scholarship program that brings together diverse, multicultural cadres of emerging urban leaders who want to use their college education to make a difference on campus and in their communities at home. An initiative of Pursue Scholars, Act Six is Chicago’s newest full-tuition, full-need urban leadership award. Act Six will select approximately 7 of Chicago’s most promising urban leaders for scholarships to Taylor University. Create an account on the Act Six website to begin the application process.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Graduating class of 2023, high school senior students ONLY
  • There is no minimum GPA requirement and admissions standards vary across our partner colleges. In general, applicants with a GPA below 3.0 will need to demonstrate their readiness for academic success in college through their recommendations, essays and/or test scores
  • Live in one of our seven Act Six program sites
  • Plan to attend Taylor University
  • Love your community and want to use your college education to make a difference as a leader on campus and at home;

  2. Essays (500-750 words)
  3. Financial Summary
  4. High School Transcript and Counselor Report
  5. Community Recommendation
  6. Teacher Recommendation (optional this year)

Open to DREAMers: Yes
Renewable: Yes, over 4 years of undergraduate education at Taylor. Persistence in the program and studies is the only requirement of renewability.
